Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) informal leadership meeting 17th meeting on the 15th in Singapore. Closure of the meeting to be published before the "Singapore Declaration" pointed out, APEC calls for a balanced, inclusive and sustainable development strategies to accelerate regional economic integration. To promote sustained growth, close regional ties is not only the theme of the meeting, but also the future direction of APEC's efforts.
With regard to sustainable growth, the declaration said, APEC would ensure the region's economic growth and sustainable development, coordinated response to the threat of climate change, and strive to achieve the General Assembly in Copenhagen in the "United Nations Convention on Climate Change" target, within the framework of the terms and principles of the "ambitious" results, and to ensure that measures to address climate change is consistent with international trade obligations.
The declaration said, APEC is determined to ensure future economic growth more inclusive, expanding growth opportunities. Inclusive growth, requires two key drivers, one of structural adjustment, expansion of all sectors of society to benefit from growth opportunities; the second is to improve the resilience of society to help the individual to overcome the short-term difficulties and to provide the impetus for long-term development, focusing on vulnerable groups.
Analysts pointed out that the so-called inclusive growth, should be to seek coordinated development of social and economic, sustainable development, and the pursuit of economic growth alone opposed. Inclusive growth includes the following elements: to let more people enjoy the fruits of globalization; to the protection of vulnerable groups; strengthen small and medium enterprises and individual capacity-building; in the process of economic growth to maintain a balance; emphasis on investment and trade liberalization, against the investment, and trade protectionism; emphasis on social stability.
Accelerating regional economic integration is determined by this meeting another theme. "Singapore Declaration" says, APEC reaffirms its commitment to achieving the Bogor Goals, namely, "open, free trade and investment", and the Asia-Pacific free trade zone as a possible long-term goals, continue to explore the various conditions to achieve this goal.
