According to Reuters news agency reported Wednesday, Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Secretariat, the Director-General Michael Tay (Michael Tay) Tuesday said that next month's APEC Leaders Meeting held in Singapore will focus on trade protectionism, trade imbalances and improve the business environment and other issues.
"For the upcoming summit, the crisis is not over yet. Leaders will discuss whether the policy constitutes a subsidy of trade protectionist measures ... ... is now even less perfectly competitive market." Michael Tay, Singapore's Foreign Press Association said.
Michael Tay, said, APEC leaders will also discuss how each of the global economic system, narrowing the gap and address the negative effects of globalization and other issues, including the gap between rich and poor, as well as the gap between developing and developed countries and so on.
APEC has 21 member countries around the world whose population accounts for about 40% of the total population, its GDP accounted for 54% of the world's GDP, its trade accounts for 44% of world trade. The United States, China, Japan and Russia are APEC member economies. |
